Reading have made eight signings so far this summer, but they ain’t done yet. The Royals are reportedly close to making it nine with the addition of George Puscas. According to Gianluca di Marzio, the 23 year-old Romanian forward is nearing a permanent switch from Inter Milan for a fee in the region of £8 million.
This article adds that we beat Birmingham City to the signature of Puscas, and a medical will take place on Wednesday morning - something that was also reported by Courtney Friday. In terms of the contract for the player himself, Nicolo Schira from Gazzetta dello Sport believes it will last five years and be worth €5 million for Puscas.
#Reading is closing George #Puscas from #Inter. Ready a contract until 2024 by €1M a year for him. Inter will gain €10M (bonuses included). #transfers

In Puscas, Reading would be getting a high-quality new striker. Still only 23, he’s impressed at youth level for Romania, even being named in the 2019 Euro under-21 team of the tournament - the only non-Spanish or German player to achieve that.
He’s done well at club level too, with nine goals for Serie B side Palermo, but as One Football notes they were unable to afford an obliged purchase so Inter have been looking to sell. This would be Puscas’ first time in his career outside Romania or Italy, with his other clubs being SSC Bari, Bihor Oradea, Novara Calcio 1908 and Benevento Calcio.
Should he sign, Puscas will join a list of summer signings that’s taking me ever longer to type: Joao Virginia, Matt Miazga, Charlie Adam, Michael Morrison, Lucas Boye, Lucas Joao, Pele and Rafael. The last three of those all joined on a manic Tuesday evening - you can read more about their arrivals in the links below.
