Luke Southwood: 6
Had a significant amount more to do than his opposite number, James Shea, and did it all very well. Had no chance with the goal which was a great header into the top corner. Proved again that he will be a handy backup to Rafael this campaign.
Felipe Araruna: 6
A decent performance from the Brazilian - like all of the back four. I know we didn’t create much, but nor did Luton really so the whole back four deserves a bit of credit in my opinion.
Tom Holmes: 6
Thought he was really good. Looked classy on the ball, and thought he dealt with Hylton pretty well alongside his academy graduate partner McIntyre.
Tom McIntyre: 6
Don’t think he stood out as much as Holmes, but still looked very assured at the back. Don’t think he did anything to change the fact that he will be a huge part of this club’s future.
Ethan Bristow: 6
Just like his debut against Colchester 10 days ago, he looked more than comfortable. Was arguably our most dangerous attacking threat throughout the course of the evening as he continued to get up and down the left hand side.
Dejan Tetek: 7
We created hardly anything all night, but any kind of attacking threat we did manage to conjure up seemed to come through Tetek. He looked really confident and positive in the centre of the park, and I’m sure it won’t be the last we see of him in a Reading shirt this season.
Tennai Watson: 5
Didn't look too out of place considering he was playing in a position we’d never really seen him play before, but sometimes his decision making in the final third let him down - but he really wasn’t alone in that.
Sam Baldock: 5
Another ‘meh’ performance. Played out of position so I’m reluctant to be too harsh on him, but you still expect him to do a bit more than he did.
Sone Aluko: 5
Didn’t thing he actually did too badly, but again you expect more from him - and that absolute shank in the first half that went out for a throw in just summed up his time in Berkshire really.
Marc McNulty: 5
If I was a betting man, I’d put serious cash on McNulty not being here come the end of the transfer window. Again, he played out of position - but he doesn't seem to be part of the club's long term plans.
George Puscas: 5
Unfortunately, another poor night for the Romanian. Had arguably our best opening but couldn't get a toe on Holmes’ header across goal. Not a night that will do his confidence any good at all.
Subs
Lynford Sackey: 5
Didn’t do anything of serious note, could tell it was his first appearance in professional football. Still, a good experience for the youngster and yet another academy debut.
Nahum Melvin-Lambert and Nelson Abbey: N/A
Neither of them were really on the pitch long enough to anything of note.
Average: 5.58/10
