They kept us waiting, but boy was it worth it.
Reading’s 2021-22 away kit is here and it might be the most beautiful thing ever. In tribute to the 1988 Simod Cup winning side, the strip is based on the iconic yellow number that the Royals’ Wembley heroes wore that day.
Once again, the club got it spot on with the reveal of the kit, going all in on the 80s theme in a video that includes Liam Moore presenting ‘The Wheel of Forbury’ and Tom McIntyre in the guise of He-Man.
Then there’s the photoshoot that includes a ghetto blaster, a Scalextric track, a polaroid camera and the matchday programme from the 1988 final - as well as the trophy itself!

⏪ In our 150th anniversary season, we turn back the clocks for a taste of the ‘80s as we pay homage to that Wembley win!
The shirt should be debuted on Saturday’s opening day trip to Stoke City, but you can get your hands on it now by visiting the megastore or the online fan store. Like the home shirt, it will set you back £50.
