Hello all, and welcome to the new Bookie Watch with me. I plan on bringing you a weekly preview betting wise from the Reading games, and letting you know where is best to place your hard earned £ should you so desire.

This weekend, we travel to Cardiff (2.25) and play there on Friday night. The main markets have Reading best priced at 3.6 to take home all 3 points on Friday, with the teams splitting the points up with a draw priced at 3.5.

Cardiff this season have been a relatively up and down side, and haven't managed to get a good run of form going yet consistently, however they are strong at home having picked up 18 points from a possible 24 at home so far, with the 2nd best home record in the league. Away from home, Reading haven't managed to get going this season, and have lost five out of their eight trips away from the Madejski so far. Cardiff at 2.25 looks to be a little long given the struggles Reading have had on the road this season.

This summer saw Adam Le Fondre (7.00) and Sean Morrison (26.00) both leave Reading and take the trip down the M4 together to join Cardiff. Many people will worry about the quality of Morrison in the air, and they would be right, with Reading having conceded the most headed goals this season so far (9). Morrison will look to dominate Reading in the air, especially from corners where Reading have looked poor this season, and could be a nice bet to cover for anytime goalscorer (10.00).

In terms of Reading players, the two typical players to look at for first goalscorer are Murray (8.00) and Cox (8.50). Murray so far has got 5 in 14 for the Royals, with 1 of these coming away from the Madejski, during the trip to Blackburn. Cox has scored away from home against Boro, and also Brentford with 7 in 20 so far. Neither of these options appeal hugely to myself for first goalscorer however.

If you feel a repeat of the poor away form is set to continue and Reading are to concede three again, 3-0 (26.00) is available, however I feel a safer option to guard against any late consolation goals may be to back the -1 available for Cardiff (4.33)

So, our preview for this weekend is coming to an end. A new feature is I will recommend a set of bets I feel offer the best value for your £. Along with this (starting from next week, in order to give us sometime to set this up!) will be a fantasy bet league with Wimb and the guys from the podcast selecting their bet of the week. If you have any comments on the bets picked, or any ideas for this article in the future, leave a comment and let us know.

Recommended bets vs Cardiff (A):

  1. Cardiff to win - 2.25
  2. Cardiff -1 - 4.33
  3. Sean Morrison to score first - 26.00
