Reading FC Loan Report: November 27

A busy, busy week on the loan front, with several players heading out on loan and others extending or ending their loan spells. We recap all of the moves and how they've got on so far in the latest loan report.

Harry Engels

Simon Church - Huddersfield (Championship) Appearances: 3 Goals: 1

Charlton 1-1 Huddersfield

A full 90 minutes for Churchy who'll now be staying at Huddersfield until December 31st. Church played his part in a 1-1 draw at Charlton on Saturday but couldn't nab his second goal of the campaign.

******

Joseph Mills - Burnley (Championship) Appearances: 8

After earning a spot on the bench last week Mills was once again dropped into the non-squad wilderness by Sean Dyche, not featuring in the 18 for the 1-0 win at Hull.

*****

Michael Hector

Old Loan - Shrewsbury (League 1) Appearances: 9

New Loan - Aldershot (League 2)

With Shrewsbury allowing Hector to come back to Reading, the two clubs agreed to cancel Hec's six month loan and allow him to go on an emergency loan deal to Aldershot.

Hector was straight into the 'Shots squad for their game with Port Vale but didn't make it off the bench in a 3-1 defeat.

****

Gozie Ugwu - Yeovil (League 1) Appearances: 5 (+9) Goals: 3

Crawley 0-1 Yeovil

Yeovil 1-3 Carlisle

After overcoming his hamstring injury, Ugwu was given just over 20 minutes from the bench in Yeovil's 1-0 win at Crawley before starting against Carlisle on Saturday. Sadly the young striker couldn't make a positive impact and was subbed five minutes into the second half with his side trailing 2-0.

*****

Lawson D'Ath - Cheltenham (League 2) Appearances: 2 Goals: 1

D'Ath is still recovering from a knee injury but it was confirmed that he'll stay with Cheltenham until the new year.

*****

Jake Taylor - Cheltenham (League 2) Appearances: 1

Cheltenham 1-0 Barnet

Former Wales U21 midfielder Taylor also joined D'Ath at Cheltenham until the new year and was straight into the starting lineup as his new side beat Barnet 1-0. Taylor played for 79 minutes and according to fans started well but faded late on, which I suppose is to be expected from someone who's been playing U21 football all season.

*****

Angus MacDonald - Torquay (League 2)

MacDonald has returned to Torquay, a club where he spent a spell on loan last season. After his unsuccessful stint at AFC Wimbledon it's good to see him back at a league club, though he had to view on from the bench this weekend as his side won 2-0 at York.

*****

Karl Sheppard - Accrington (League 2) Appearances: 7(+5) Goals: 1

No sign of Sheppard again, he's still listed as on loan at the club but now hasn't featured since October 13th.

*****

Brett Williams - Woking (Conference Premier) Appearances: 6(+9) Goals: 3

FAT: Woking 7-0 Farnborough

GOALLLLLLL!

That's right, Williams one man crusade to prove I've been totally wrong about him continued with a second goal in as many games and a MOTM performance as Woking smashed Farnborough 7-0 in the FA Trophy 1st Round. Here's the match reports description of his goal.

Kevin Betsy broke free down the right, and had all the time in the world to pick out a square pass for Williams. The Cards' born-again striker confidently side-stepped Huggins and stroked the ball past Bradshaw.

The report went on to mention Williams recent improvements and for all of the joking this season I hope he does go on to prove he can cut it at a decent level.

*****

Ben Jefford - Boreham Wood (Conference South) Appearances: 2 Goals: 1 (Appearance data from 06/11/12)

There was no place for Jefford in either of Wood's two FA Trophy tussles with Bromley.

*****

Matt Partridge - Bognor Regis (Isthmian League - Premier Division) Appearances: 5

Conformation this week that Partridge will stay on loan with Bognor through to the end of the year, though his injury picked up a couple of weeks back kept him out of this weekend's Ryman League Cup match with Whitehawk.

*****

Jack Jeffrey - Banbury United (Southern League - Premier Division)

Young Academy striker Jack Jeffrey has also gone out on work experience, joining Banbury United in the seventh tier and watched from the bench as his new side beat Hemel Hempstead 4-0.

A Royal Return

Mikkel Andersen - Portsmouth (League 1) Appearances: 19

Portsmouth 2-3 Leyton Orient

Goalkeeper Andersen has returned to Reading after completing the maximum of 93 days on an emergency loan at Portsmouth. Andersen couldn't bow out with a win but performed well during his time on the south coast, keeping Pompey in plenty of games and helping give his side a fighting chance of avoiding the drop. I'd imagine he'll be out on loan again sooner rather than later though with Federici and McCarthy seemingly well in front on him right now.
