Reading FC Loan Report: December 19

Slightly delayed loan report this week but there was still some FA Cup joy for two loanees, while one Royals goalkeeper has left the Madejski to get some match practice.

Simon Church - Huddersfield (Championship) Appearances: 6 Goals: 1

Churchy missed Huddersfield's 2-0 defeat at Hull due to to illness but has now returned to full training.

Joseph Mills - Burnley (Championship) Appearances: 8

Another subs bench appearance for Mills but again another without a game.

Michael Hector

Aldershot (League 2) Appearances: 3

Aldershot 4-2 Rochdale

Hector helped Aldershot to a crucial win over Rochdale that helped move them 3 points clear of the relegation places. It was a solid if not spectacular game for the youngster who was noted for a couple of good clearances but could have done better for Dales first which he failed to properly clear.

Gozie Ugwu - Yeovil (League 1) Appearances: 5 (+10) Goals: 3

Walsall 2-2 Yeovil

Uguw earned 10 minutes from the bench and helped Yeovil earn a late point away at Walsall.

Lawson D'Ath - Cheltenham (League 2) Appearances: 2 Goals: 1

A frustrating week for D'Ath who was twice an unused substitute for Cheltenham.

Jake Taylor - Cheltenham (League 2) Appearances: 5

FAC: Hereford 1-2 Cheltenham

Cheltenham 1-1 Port Vale

Better news for Jake Taylor who started twice this week, including helping his side into the FA Cup Third Round where they'll face Everton. Taylor put in a good shift in both games being described by one Cheltenham fan as like a Duracell battery that just runs and runs.

Angus MacDonald - Torquay (League 2) Appearances: 1 (+1)

Torquay 1-1 Northampton

MacDonald made his second full debut for Torquay as they drew 1 each with Northampton. He was given the unenviable task of marking Adebayo Akinfenwa but kept the prolific striker quiet only for Northampton to score with pretty much the last kick of the game.

Karl Sheppard - Accrington (League 2) Appearances: 7(+5) Goals: 1

Tempted to put his face on a milk carton as he's just disappeared from any football action.

Brett Williams - Woking (Conference Premier) Appearances: 10 (+9) Goals: 3 Red Cards: 1

FAT: Woking 0-1 Welling

Williams did himself no favours with a red card on Saturday. He lasted just 18 minutes against Welling before he lunged in when trying to recover from a poor touch. Deserved red by the sounds of it.

Ben Jefford - Basingstoke (Conference South) Appearances: 2

AFC Hornchurch 3-0 Basingstoke

Little to gleam from this one, though Jefford was mentioned for one great challenge. A 3-0 defeat is a big blow to Basingstoke who sit second from bottom, two points from safety.

Matt Partridge - Bognor Regis (Isthmian League - Premier Division) Appearances: 9 Goals: 1

Bognor 3-1 Hendon

Again little to go on here but Partridge did move into the centre of the defence for this one and helped his side to a 3-1 win.

Heading Out

Jon Henly - Hungerford Town (Southern League - Division One S&W) Appearances 1

Taunton 2-0 Hungerford

Young 'keeper Jon Henly has joined Hungerford Town on loan for a month, making his debut in a 2-0 defeat at Taunton. Henly will still train with the Royals during his loan spell.
