Reading FC Loan Report: November 27

A goal for Gozie, wins for Henly and Big Hec heads to Parkhead, all that and more in our latest Reading FC loan watch.

Ben Hoskins

Michael Hector - Aberdeen (SPFL Premiership) Appearances:14 Goals: 1

Big Hec had his first experience of action at Celtic Park as Aberdeen lost 3-1 to the SPFL leaders on Saturday. Hector played the full 90 minutes but started in a holding midfield role which he apparently looked a bit uncomfortable in according to a few fans on Aberdeen's forums.

Still, he won't have a harder assignment this season and it's nice to see that the manager has faith in him to play such a role in a big game. He did a decent job doing that job for Aldershot last season and given our own midfield injury crisis lately it'll be a good string to his bow if he sees more time there.

****

Mikkel Andersen - Randers (Danish Superliga) Appearances: 10 Clean Sheets: 1

Andersen seems firmly out of the picture for the time being at Randers, again watching from the bench as his relegation threatened side drew 1-1 with OB.

****

Daniel Carrico - Sevilla (Liga BBVA) Appearances: 8 Goals 1

Carrico lined up at the heart of the Sevilla defence as they thrashed Real Betis 4-0 in La Liga. Unlikely we'll see him at the Madejski again but still nice to see he's finally over the injury troubles that have plagued him over the past few years.

****

Gozie Ugwu - Shrewsbury (SkyBet League One) Appearances: 3  Goals: 1

A really good week for young striker Ugwu who first set up the winner in Shrewsbury's 1-0 win over Notts County before bagging his first goal for the club in a 2-1 home defeat to Oldham. His strike took a fortunate deflection off an Oldham defender but he showed good awareness to capitalise on a mix up between two Oldham defenders to drive into the box.

*****

Nick Arnold - Wycombe Wanderers (SkyBet League Two) Appearances: 10

Arnold is still receiving treatment on a groin injury so hasn't featured in the past few games for Wanderers.

****

Matt Partridge - Basingstoke Town (Conference South) Appearances: 7 Goals: 2

Like Arnold Partridge is receiving treatment on an injury and that coupled with suspension means he hasn't been available for Basingstoke

****

Ryan Edwards - Perth Glory (Australian A-League) Appearances: 7 Goals 0

Another full 90 minutes of A-League action for Ryan Edwards who saw his Perth Glory side concede a 94th minute goal to lose 2-1 at home to the Central Coast Mariners.

****

Jon Henly - Aldershot (Conference Premier) Appearances: 5 Clean Sheets: 0

Far better fortunes for Jon Henly over the past seven days as Aldershot bounced back from consecutive 4-0 defeats by beating Southport 5-2 and Braintree 2-1. Brett Williams also grabbing four in those two games, it's nice to see he's found his level.
