Reading FC Loan Report: December 18

Plenty to look back on in this week's loan report including a third straight clean sheet for a defender, a midfielder making his debut and two former Reading legends causing problems for our potential stars of the future.

Pete Norton

Michael Hector - Aberdeen (SPFL Premiership) Appearances:17 Goals: 1

Hector helped make it three clean sheets in a row for Aberdeen as they saw off St Mirren 2-0 at Pittodrie. Hector was put in an unfamiliar right-back position and fans report that he didn't look overly comfortable there. Still, the fact his manager is happy to play him at centre back, right-back and midfield helps show his versatility, something that won't do his long-term chances at Reading any harm at all.

Mikkel Andersen - Randers (Danish Superliga) Appearances: 10 Clean Sheets: 1

It's the winter break over in the Superliga so no action for Andersen for the foreseeable future.

****

Daniel Carrico - Sevilla (Liga BBVA) Appearances: 11 Goals 1

A decent week for Carrico who saw his team progress into the knockout stages of the Europa League before drawing with Athletic Bilbao in La Liga. Carrico played in defence in Europe, before moving further forward for the domestic game.

Gozie Ugwu - Shrewsbury (SkyBet League One) Appearances: 5 Goals: 1

Ugwu got 90 minutes under his belt but couldn't help Shrewsbury avoid a 1-0 home defeat to Walsall. According to reporters at the game Ugwu looked a 'livewire' early on but missed a great early chance to put his side in front, going through 1 on 1 but hitting the 'keepers feet. Still, full 90 minutes have been rare for Gozie in his short career so that's a big positive to take away from the game.

*****

Nick Arnold - Wycombe Wanderers (SkyBet League Two) Appearances: 11

Full-back Arnold made his first appearance since October as he played the full game for Wycombe in a 1-1 draw with Scunthorpe. Arnold was also booked but again it's good to see a young player get a full game.

Lawson D'Ath - Dagenham & Redbridge (SkyBet League Two) Appearances: 1

D'Ath made his Daggers debut in a 2-1 defeat at Oxford. The midfielder completed the game but couldn't stop his side being beaten by an injury time header from one David Kitson....

Ryan Edwards - Perth Glory (Australian A-League) Appearances: 10 Goals 0

There might have been glory for Australia in Perth this week but there was no such joy for Edwards and Perth Glory who lost 2-0 to the Melbourne Victory.

Sadly that proved the final game for Ryan's coach, his father Alastair who was dismissed on Tuesday, with one of the reasons hisapparent favouritism towards his sons...

****

Jon Henly - Aldershot (Conference Premier) Appearances: 8 Clean Sheets: 0

Henly's search for his first clean sheet at Aldershot continues but the Scotland Under 19s keeper did help his side beat Worcester 4-1 in the FA Trophy this past weekend.

Shepherd Murombedzi - Bognor Regis Town (Ryman Premier League)  Appearances: 2 Goals: 1

It was a case of old vs new at Bognor as young Shep Murombedzi came up against a former Reading legend in Glen Little, who put in a man of the match performance for Wealdstone in a 3-1 win. Shep himself sounded lively in the report, creating a couple of chances that Bognor just couldn't quite capitalise on.
