Reading's young winger grabbed his first professional assist on his debut for the club, crossing for David Ball to equalise during Fleetwood's 2-1 defeat to Peterborough.

The following week, Fosu made his first ever professional start against Swindon Town. He grabbed their scrappy 4th goal during his side's 5-1 victory.

The official site, fleetwoodtownfc.com, described his performance in a positive manner;

"Tariqe Fosu, who was making his first home appearance for the Club, extended the scoreline with 20 minutes to play when his shot rolled past Vigouroux"

"Fosu, a bright spark throughout, later crossed for Ball who shot just wide at the front post after a good move down the right"

"Fosu’s dangerous free kick at the start of the second half was kept out well by Vigouroux as he palmed his effort past the post"

Tariqe also tweeted after the match to express his delight at opening his professional goalscoring account:

Speaking after the game Fosu said:

"I’m buzzing to get the goal but it’s also about team performance. I thought we took on board what the gaffer has said in training.

"We’ve worked on things all week so it was just about putting it into the game, and we got a good result which puts us onto the next one now.

"We’ve been working on the connection of the front three so just had to take it into the game, and we linked-up really well.

"The gaffer wants us to press all the time which is quite hard work, so coming off I was quite tired as I tried to work my socks off."
