Alex McCarthy: 8
Another excellent shot-stopping display which kept the score down. Still needs a lot of work on his distribution, with some goal kicks going straight out for throws.
Chris Gunter: 6
Still slightly suspect defending but linked up well in some attacks. Crossing was good today.
Wayne Bridge: 6
Competent enough, but laid some bad short passes at points. Hard to see how he cost £12M less than 5 years ago.
Alex Pearce: 5
As much as I love him, Pearce wasn't brilliant today. Caught for pace a fair bit and at fault for the goals.
Sean Morrison: 6
Should have done better for the first goal and, like Pearce, was too static at times.
Chris Baird: 6
Distributed the ball nicely but didn't win it enough for a holding midfielder.
Danny Guthrie: 7
Once again, won the ball countless times and generally good with his distribution. Set pieces weren't so much of a threat today though.
Jordan Obita: 7
Average first half, but grew into the game in the second spell. Doesn't look out of place at this level, despite being played out of position.
Hal Robson-Kanu: 6
Still not up to his usual standards, failing to beat his man on countless occasions. Did little creatively.
Jobi McAnuff: 6
A pretty quiet game but was given little of the ball. Not as good as McCleary.
Pavel Pogrebnyak: 7
Held the ball up well but didn't look like a credible goal threat. Tracked back a lot but with no strike partner ended up leaving the final third too empty.
Subs:
Jake Taylor: 7
Decent little cameo; some great runs and got into some decent spaces. Potentially a promising youngster.
Nick Blackman: 4
Quite what Adkins sees in him I don't know. Ended up breaking down most of the attacks for the Burnley defence, and missed his only shot.
Adam le Fondre: 6
Got into some decent positions but didn't get enough contact on the ball for what looked like a decent chance. Didn't get a huge amount of service though so wasn't really able to do much.
