Sheffield Wednesday v Reading: Player Ratings

So did anyone come out of the defeat at Sheffield Wednesday with any credit? We give our player ratings and invite you to vote for your player of the match.

Chris Brunskill

Alex McCarthy - 6

Would have been higher were it not for the collective abomination of goal three.

Chris Gunter - 5

Endeavour but sadly part of a unit that capitulated. Poor from him for goal four.

Stephen Kelly - 2

Woefully exposed, positionally awful, Antonio gave him a predictable runaround.

Sean Morrison - 3

Buffet defending. Help yourselves Fryatt and Wickham.

Alex Pearce - 2

Mobility found wanting, confidence and man-up-ability when you want leaders sadly lacking.

Garath McCLeary - 5

Endeavour, but no real end product.

Jordan Obita - 6

sad for him, on the receiving end of unwarranted stick second half but quality missing from him.

Chris Baird - 4

Bairdinho he was not. Catastrophic passage of play for goal three.

Danny Guthrie - 5

Influential to a degree going forward, nowhere defensively.

Hal Robson-Kanu - 3

Anonymous except for a few brief first half glimpses. One decent shot when through on goal.

Pavel Pogrebnyak - 7

The one shining light. Held up play well, brought others into play, Wednesday defenders couldn't handle him. Superb header.

Subs:-

Adam Le Fondre - 4

Typically anonymous performance, decent penalty however.

Nick Blackman - 6

One of few to come out with credit. Willing to run at his full back, always wanted the ball, excellent chance spurned near the end.
