Wigan Athletic 0-3 Reading FC: Player Ratings

Here's how Becka rated the players after Saturday's 3-0 win away at Wigan.

Ali Al-Habsi - 6

Didn't have a save to make in the first half but made a couple of decent saves in the second. Not his busiest afternoon but did what he needed to do on his return to the DW Stadium.

Chris Gunter - 6

Good solid performance from the right back, although like Al-Habsi had a pretty quiet afternoon. Got forward and linked up well with McCleary.

Liam Moore - 7

Business as usual against a side who didn't really pose a threat up front, and got himself a nice assist for McCleary's second goal.

Paul McShane - 6

I'm sure the skipper will be happy with yet another clean sheet.

Tyler Blackett - 6

Similarly to Gunter on the right, Blackett had a quiet but solid game and looks to be improving on a weekly basis.

George Evans - 7

Looking as comfortable as ever, Evans had a lively afternoon which was topped off with an assist for McCleary's first goal.

John Swift - 7

His awareness of what's going on around him and his team mates' positioning is something which always amazes me. Quick thinking, accurate passing and a good run to win the penalty in the second half.

Danny Williams - 6

Not quite as effective as Swift, but certainly not a bad performance from the USA international. Also had a couple of attempts in the second half.

Callum Harriott - 7

His best performance in a Reading shirt, I was really impressed with the young winger. He was exciting to watch, ran at players and got some decent crosses into the box.

Garath McCleary - 8

With two great goals and an all round good performance, this was McCleary at his best. Disciplined, motivated, unplayable.

Yann Kermorgant - 7

Even though it seems at times Kermorgant is everywhere on the pitch apart from up front, he always shows why he deserves to be starting every week. He can actually take penalties too and score them, which is an added bonus.

Subs

Joey Van Den Berg - N/A

Dominic Samuel - N/A

Yakou Meite - N/A

He wasn't on long enough to mark, but it was a cracking finish to put the ball in the back of the net; just a shame he was offside!
