Reading: Al-Habsi; Long (Gunter), Obita, Ferdinand (Hyam), Keown; Akpan (Norwood), Tshibola (Williams), Quinn (Pogrebnyak); Taylor (Novakovich), Fosu (Griffin), Samuel (Blackman)
If you read my piece earlier today than perhaps you can understand why I'm slightly underwhelmed by any pre-season result but all that being said, a win is a win.
Goals from Dominic Samuel and Nick Blackman sealed a win over the League Two side on a night that saw Reading missing several first teamers including Michael Hector & Garath McCleary who were on international duty and Hal Robson-Kanu who was missing with a niggle picked up in the behind closed doors game with Spurs.
Get Reading and TTE Podcast Extra Co-Host Charles Watts summed it up thusly.
All over here. 2-0 #readingfc. Samuel and Blackman with the goals. Decent work out. Fosu stood out again. Two assists.

Fosu's night included setting up both goals and gives further encouragement that his impressive display at Derby was no fluke.
FULL TIME and it's a 2-0 victory thanks to @DominicSamuel9 and @nblackman89 pic.twitter.com/O5pclQZWtk

Anton Ferdinand coming through another game with no apparent injury was also a good sign but Friday's opponents Swansea will provide a better idea of how far Steve Clarke's side have progressed since the end of last season.
So what did you make of it folks? Start of something good or nothing to get excited about? Let us know.
