Alex Pearce who has served as team captain for most of the Steve Clarke era has now been tipped to make a free transfer move to Derby County.
Pearce is out of contract at the Madejski Stadium and although negotiations were described as ongoing a few weeks ago, nothing had yet pointed to him extending his stay with the club. Now the Republic of Ireland centre back is rumoured to be the first signing for new Derby boss Paul Clement, who happens to be the brother of former Reading loanee Neil.
Alex Pearce in talks with Derby. Imagine it will be tough for Royals to hang on to him #dcfc #readingfc

The Reading Academy product has also been linked with Leeds, who are in the mix to appoint former Reading Chief Scout Steve Head as their head of recruitment.
If Pearce does make the move to the iPro it will leave Hal Robson-Kanu as the longest serving Reading player at the football club.... I'll let that sink in for a minute.
Regardless would you be happy to let Pearce go or should the club to more to keep him in Berkshire?
