Could Michael Hector be leaving the Madejski Stadium today?
Sky Sports News certainly believe so with the channel reporting he'll join the Champions for a fee of around £4 million pounds.
The news would be a shocking development for the Reading Vice-Captain who only signed a new long-term deal in the summer.
The move was first mooted this morning by Charles Watts but Chelsea's subsequent signing of Nantes defender Papy Djilobodji looked to have made the move for Hector less likely.
Further fueling the speculation that Hector is on the move is a series of social media changes.
Firstly the defender deleted his long-standing Instagram account, opening a new one without any posts.
The tweet to announce the account change was also tagged as being in Bromley, South West London at 8.30am this moring. That's notable for being just a 10 minute car trip from the training ground of Crystal Palace who were also linked with a move for the defender.
Obviously being a London Boy who played for Millwall as a youngster this could just be a simple case of visiting chums and wanting a fresh social media account but the timing does seem curious....
So is this the end for Hector at Reading? We'll bring you any more as we get it.
UPDATE
Charles Watts is hearing reports that Hector could be set for a swift return to the Madejski Stadium on loan.
Hearing whispers that Hector could be coming back to #readingfc for the season.
