Reading FC's Danny Williams Interesting Premier League Sides

The United States international midfielder only has 6 months remaining on his contract.

Reading could lose one of their star midfielders to the Premier League in January, according to The Sun.

27-year-old Danny Williams is interesting Burnley, Crystal Palace and Swansea, who could sign him for a lower fee in January because of his contract situation.

The United States international midfielder's contract runs out in June 2017.

The club has a similar situation to that of Nick Blackman this time last year: keep him until his contract runs out, but then lose him for free; sell him in January and try to find a suitable replacement; or have him sign a new and improved contract.

This isn't the first time Williams has been linked with the Premier League, as we saw him linked with Swansea and Sunderland in the summer.

Williams is one of the highest earners at the club, but has featured 18 matches for The Royals this season, missing just one league game — the 4-1 defeat at Brentford.

Since Stam arrived at the club, he's been a key figure for the club, providing some energy and box-to-box dynamism in the midfield engine room.

Time will tell whether these are more than just rumours. But most Reading fans will hope it's all stuff and nonsense.
