Reading FC Make £2m Offer For Australia International Striker?

Is Stam about to get that striker he’s been after?

Reading FC could be on the verge of securing the striker they’ve been craving since the summer.

Swiss media outlet Luzerner Zeitung report that Reading have made an offer of £2m to sign the 25-year-old striker Tomi Juric from Swiss top tier side FC Luzern, which they consider “lucrative”.

The 6”2’ forward has scored four goals and assisted three in 17 appearances this season before a knee injury ruled him out for the festive period.

Juric joined FC Luzern from Roda JC for a free transfer in the summer, and said back in October that he was delighted he turned down the chance to become the highest paid Australian footballer in the summer by rejecting a move to China.

Tomi Juric made his debut for the Socceroos in 2013 and has gone on to feature 16 times, scoring twice.

At this point, we don’t know much more about the striker. What we do know is that it’s a lot of money for a relatively unproven striker who may — or may not — be better than our current striking options.

Here’s a video of a goal he scored in October to give us an idea of the type of thing he’s capable of.

Transfer deadline day could well be interesting after all...
